Working under GMP in Biotech and Pharma – basic principles and practical aspects
Elective for master students of UL and LUMC who want to understand about how medicines and vaccines are developed and produced safely, efficiently, and under strict GMP guidelines in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
It is a 9-day training course combining e-learning with in-person training at BTF.
This training is designed for a group of up to 20 students from Leiden University, studying Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences (BPS), Biomedical Sciences (BMS), Biology, Chemistry, or Life Science & Technology (LST).
The training provides students with practical insight into the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry and introduces them to key principles and processes involved in bringing medicinal products from development to the patient.
The learning objectives are to gain practical experience and understanding of:
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Quality control strategies
Regulatory frameworks and requirements
The practical flow from drug development to patient delivery
By the end of the training, students will have a better understanding of how scientific development, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory requirements come together to ensure that medicinal products can be safely and effectively delivered to patients.
